Clarence O. Woodbury was the art director of the Reader's Digest from 1945-1962. He attended Ohio Northern University, Chicago Academy of Fine Arts, Art Institute of Chicago, and the Art Students League of New York. In 1923 he joined J. Walter Thompson in Chicago before leaving for london in 1924. Between 1930-1945 he worked as a free lance designer and illustrator before starting at the Reader's Digest.
