Suzanne Caporael (American, born 1949) has been a longtime fixture on the American painting scene, known for richly navigating the terrain between abstraction and the natural world. Generational and aesthetic peers would include Donald Sultan, Joan Snyder, Sean Scully, and Sylvia Plimack Mangold among many others alongside which she has exhibited. She received both undergraduate and graduate degrees from Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles and now lives and works in Connecticut. Her work is in major museum collections across the US, from MOCA Los Angeles to the Art Institute of Chicago and the Whitney Museum among many others.
