Bea Nettles (American, b. 1980 in Gainesville, Florida) is a photographer and feminist artist, exploring themes of intergenerational family relationships, history, and mythology, often using her own body as a subject. She taught at Rochester Institute of Technology, Tyler School of Art from 1971 - 2007, and is currently a Professor Emerita at the University of Illinois. She is known for her alternative approach to photographic printing, often using techniques such as photolithography and silkscreen. Her work is held in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Smithsonian Institution, and the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C., among others.
