Linda Besemer (American, b. 1957 in South Bend, Indiana) is an abstract painter known for her optical, acrylic works that highlight the materiality of paint and the physicality of the work itself. Her works are often folded over themselves, taking optical dimensionality into the physical realm. Besemer’s work has been exhibited at the Whitney Museum of American Art, The Albright-Knox Art Gallery, and J. Paul Getty Museum, among others.
