Hiroshige II Utagawa
Japanese, (1826–1869)
Hiroshige II, born Suzuki Chinpei, was the pupil and adopted son of Utagawa Hiroshige. He first took the name Shigenobu at the start of his apprenticeship. When Hiroshige died in 1858, he married the elder Hiroshige's daughter and took the name Hiroshige II. Around 1865 their marriage was dissolved and he retired to Yokohama and returned ot using the name Shigenobu.
