"Jo Yarrington's print Moving Day is down to earth in its subject matter and presentation. The bold, chaotic black lines of her print suggest figures in an earth-colored box with a black triangle that symbolizes a house. This structure could represent a house that is either being moved from or moved into. This ambiguity only adds to the visual movement within the print. The use of richly textured black, produced by multiple printings, separates the black figures in motion from the black lines. Yarrington's economic use of these lines, combined with layering black on the figures, provides this print with its visual energy."
