This lithograph formed plate 25 in the volume "L'Ecole Moderne," a collection of lithographs Laurens produced after work by contemporary artists. Beneath the image, the original painter is identified at left ("Th[éodore] Rousseau pinx[it]") and Laurens himself is identified as the lithographer at right (J[ules] Laurens lith[ographie]"). At the bottom of the sheet, the printer is indicated "Imp[rimerie] Lemercier, Paris" as well as the publisher ("Paris, H[ippolyte] Peyrol, Edit[eur], 24 r[ue] Hautefeuille").
