This print reproduces a sketch by Leonardo da Vinci that is now in the Royal Collection, UK.

Beneath the image at lower left: "From the original drawing by Leo[nardo] da Vinci." At lower right, the engraver is credited ("F. Bartolozzi sculp[si]t"). Further down on the sheet "In His Majesty's Collection" is followed by the inscription: "Published as the Act Directs, Oct[obe]r 10, 1806, by J[ohn] Chamberlaine, Scotland Yard." Chamberlaine was Antiquary and Keeper of the King of England's drawings, coins and medals from 1791 until his death in 1812. Francesco Bartolozzi worked for him as an engraver.
