At lower left, "Jourdan del[ineavit]," or "Jourdan drew this," and at lower right, "Bury scul[psit]," or "Bury engraved this."

"Église de Jésus, à Rome / Chapelle de St. François Xavier" identifies this as the Chapel of St. Francis Xavier in the Church of the Gesù, the mother church of the Jesuit order. This engraving appeared in an 1853 book published by Jules Gailhabaud entitled Monuments anciens et modernes : collection formant une histoire de l'architecture des différents peuples à toutes les époques.
